We care deeply about our floater’s personal privacy and we have developed this Privacy Policy to best safeguard your personal information while you are using our website and services. This Privacy Policy includes details explaining how we collect, use, communicate and disclose your personal and other forms of information.

Information Collection and Use

This Privacy Policy applies to our website (www.FloatHouseEdmonton.ca), our Mindbody Online webpage, online paid advertisement activities and also to our in-store collection. It covers our collection, use or disclosure of personal information. All information collected is strictly under the care and control of Backcountry Buoyancy Brokers Inc. o/a Float House Edmonton.

Using www.FloatHouseEdmonton.ca may involve the collection, use and disclosure of some personal information. Except for the ways listed in this policy, we do not use, share, sell or rent this information outside of our direct operations without your express permission, unless ordered to do so by a court of law.

We only collect and use floater information that is necessary to facilitate our float bookings & notifications, and to complete our operational services. The primary data collected includes: full name, email address, phone number and date of birth (optional). By providing this information, floaters consent to receive our booking reminders and marketing communications. It is every floater’s discretion to unsubscribe from any of these reminders and communications, and this can be done within any single reminder or communication.


Sharing

Floater data will be securely kept and will be used only by Float House Edmonton and our operations. We do not share personally identifiable information about our clients or what they purchase with third parties. We do not share, sell or rent our email address lists to any third parties.


Online Registration

Booking floats online is an exclusive benefit available to floaters that purchase a Monthly Program or our Online Booking Pass. We use an online registration and booking platform provided by MINDBODY (mindbodyonline.com). When a floater makes an online purchase or books a float online via our MindBody Online page, floaters will be asked to create an account, which will collect personal details like your name, email, phone number, date of birth, credit card number and/or banking account details.

We are not affiliated with MINDBODY and it is important that you understand that when you register for a service you will be subject to both our Privacy Policy, and also MINDBODY’s privacy policy. You can find a copy of MINDBODY’s privacy policy at the bottom left hand corner when you are directed to their portal. You can update your personal details at any time via the MINDBODY portal to make sure the information we have is accurate and up to date.


Email Communications

Floaters can unsubscribe to our booking reminders and marketing emails by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in any one of these communications. An email will be sent to a floater after each float bookings, and marketing emails will be sent on average twice per month or less.


Cookies

A cookie is a small file stored on your browser containing information about the user. When visiting www.FloatHouseEdmonton.ca, we use cookies to track our visitors and help with online marketing efforts. Use of cookies on our site is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information. This information is largely used for online paid advertising via Meta and Google.


Online Paid Advertising

Cookies and other online data trackers via Meta and Google are used to help with our online advertising operations. The collection and use of floater data will be shared with Meta and Google to leverage their online advertising tools.


HTML and Link Detectors

To help us manage the effectiveness of our marketing emails, we may embed HTML and link detectors in all of our emails. These detectors help us keep track of our subscribers’ ability to receive HTML messages, the number of HTML messages opened, and any links subscribers engage with within our newsletter. The detectors do not collect any personally identifiable information.


Credit Card Compliance

Credit card details and banking information may be provided by floaters if they are making monthly payments or if they simply would like to pay via these options. The credit card details will only be collected in a manner that is PCI compliant or Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant, which refers to adhering to a set of security standards designed to protect cardholder data during credit card transactions. Removing payment details from your account can be requested at any time.


SMS Text Messages

We do the majority of our communications via text messages (SMS). Floaters will be communicating directly with another human being, and not any artificial intelligence.
