Terms of Service

Updated: June 14, 2025

Our website (www.FloatHouseEdmonton.ca) is the online presence representing our physical location at 8148 102 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, T6E 3A3. Our official corporate name is Backcountry Buoyancy Brokers Inc. and our operating name is Float House Edmonton. We offer exclusively the service of floatation therapy (aka floating in very salty water inside a sensory deprivation tank). When using our service and website, you are agreeing to all of our Terms described here.

Usage Disclaimer

Information provided on this website or in-store are general in nature and do not guarantee any results for any floater using our services. We are very passionate about floating and have done our best to ensure the information provided by us is accurate, correct and complete, but we cannot be held responsible or be liable for any action you may take as a result of relying on such content, information or advice or for any loss or damage suffered by you, including without limitation, physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, as a result of you taking this action to float with us. Further, we cannot provide any guarantee or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of our services. We also always retain the right to refuse service to any floaters under our sole discretion either temporarily or permanently.

Floater Account Profiles

An individual profile will be created for each floater to facilitate the booking of floats and tracking of service purchases. We will be saving the details of your name, phone number, date of birth, email address, visit history and purchases. Your information will only be used for internal operation purposes and communications.

Emails & Text Messaging

Floaters will receive automated emails and text messages as reminders for scheduled floats. We will also send marketing emails on average twice per month. It is your choice to unsubscribe from any of these emails and text messages. By providing an email address and mobile phone number, floaters are giving us permission to communicate with them until they unsubscribe. Floaters may also explicitly ask us to remove their email address and phone number by simply emailing or texting us a request to do so.

Refunds

We do not issue refunds or exchanges on any purchases. Sales are final on the purchase of all float packages, monthly programs, passes, promotions, deals, products, retail and gift cards. If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us directly to speak about it.

Expiration Dates

Each service offering will have a defined expiration date (usually always one year from purchase date). It is the responsibility of floaters to familiarize themselves with the expiration date of all of their service purchases.

Float Booking Cancellations

We kindly ask for a minimum of 12 hours notice to cancel a float booking. Depending on how late the notice to cancel is or the circumstances surrounding the cancellation, we will use our discretion on a case-by-case basis to decide whether we charge the floater for a single float credit or not for a late cancellation.

Water Contamination

The cleanliness of our facility and water is of the utmost importance. Every floater is expected to thoroughly clean their entire body and hair before every single float to remove dirt, sweat, cosmetics, hair products, deodorants and any other contaminants on the body. Hair dye must also not be bleeding while floating. Floaters are also 100% responsible to ensure no bodily fluids ever contaminate our water. A floater’s failure to respect our water may result in a fine of up to $1,800 CDN (expense for replacing 1,000 lbs of epsom salts and being inoperable).

Etiquette & Respect

All floaters are expected to use our services and facilities in a respectful manner at all times. We do not tolerate any poor behaviour towards our team or other floaters. Failure to honour our space, other floaters and our team will result in a permanent ban and no refunds will be given for any unused services.

Gift Cards

Unused and unactivated gift cards never expire, but as soon as a gift card is redeemed for it’s specific float service, there will be a specific expiration date for the specific float services activated. The expiration is generally one year from the float service activation date, and it is up to the floater to understand what the exact expiration will be for their specific float services activated by the gift card.

Changes to Website

We reserve the right to update and change our website www.FloatHouseEdmonton.ca on an ongoing basis. If you have any questions about any changes, please contact us directly to inquire.
